Media Database Solutions was founded in 2002 with the goal of developing software solutions for the Media Industry. Our Managing Partner, Irvin Hirschhorn, and Executive Director Alberto Malamoco had worked for more than 15 years as media fee auditors. MDS’s first objective was to develop software tools and technological solutions for Media Audits International, Inc. (MAI). MAI had been auditing cable companies in both domestic and international markets since 1994, verifying subscriber counts and the associated programming fees on behalf of their Network clients. In 2005, based on its growth and performance, MAI was acquired by CAA. |

MAI’s audit software, developed over those 11 years, manages the same data as media organizations – subscriber counts, channel lineups and license fee calculations for the purpose of determining programming fees.
Recognizing the need for Affiliate Database and Programming Fee Management software for the Media Industry, including Pay TV, Wireless and Telephony; MDS utilized Media Audits’ extensive experience in processing these same transactions. Based upon comprehensive experience and knowledge of audit software, MDS has created distinct innovative software products for the Media Industry.
In 2008 and 2009 MDS dedicated its resources to perform an extensive market research. During these years, our firm worked vis-a-vis with Cable and Satellite Operators to understand the needs, wants and trend of both domestic and international markets. As a result, MDS developed comprehensive software that meets the high-standards of our current and prestigious clients. Our client community feedback and our Continuous Improvement practices enable us to embody in our software the ultimate requirements in the industry as a whole, on a state of the art, cost-effective technological platform.
In mid 2010, MDS launched MDS for MSOs, a software proven by clients of all sizes and different business models which have been using MDS for MSOs for more than 18 months.
Our Management
Irvin Hirschhorn, 54, has served as Managing Partner of MDS since January 2008. Prior to then Mr. Hirschhorn served as Vice President International Operations for Cable Audit Associates. From 1994 through 2005 Mr. Hirschhorn was President/founder of Media Audits International Inc.
Mr. Hirschhorn worked for Price Waterhouse Coopers for 3 years and obtained his CPA during that tenure.
Mr. Hirschhorn received a BS in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania/Wharton School of Business
Alberto Malamoco, 42; has served as Executive Director since January 2008. Before January 2008, Mr. Malamoco served as Vice-President of Latin American Operations at Cable Audit Associates. Previously Mr. Malamoco served as Vice-President of Operations at Media Audits International where started as Audit Director in 2000.
Mr. Malamoco worked for Pricewaterhouse Coopers at the beginning of his career as Auditor for 8 years and obtained his CPA during that tenure.
Mr. Malamoco received a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Regis University in 2007.
Kurt Fulwider, 42; has served as IT & Software Development Director since March 2008. Before March 2008, Mr. Fulwider served as Director - Software Development for CAA. Previously Mr. Fulwider served as Vice President of MIS at Media Audits International.
Mr. Fulwider has been recognized for his experience and skills on developing mission-critical financial applications, management of development and analysis of business processes and customized implementations of financial systems and client/server database management systems.
Mr. Fulwider received a BS in Finance from the University of Colorado-Boulder
